ABOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER IRELAND

Childhood Cancer Ireland is a national parent and survivor-led charity
which gives a voice to children and young people with cancer,
survivors and their families.
We understand that a diagnosis of childhood cancer has a devastating
impact on the entire family.
We offer support to families to ease the burden of a diagnosis through
treatment and beyond. We empower and support our families to navigate
their lives after a diagnosis through our peer support programme, our
parent and survivor workshops in the community, and other psychosocial
and practical support programmes.
We advocate for better support and services for families and better
treatments and outcomes for children, adolescents and young adults.

JOB PURPOSE

Childhood Cancer Ireland aims to significantly increase its
fundraising income in the coming years. Donations from the community
have always been a significant source of our income. We need to
continue to build on this success and increase our income in other
areas, such as corporate and major donations. The Fundraising and
Events Coordinator, as part of our dynamic team, will work to achieve
our ambitious annual revenue targets. Reporting directly to the CEO,
the successful candidate will mainly focus on driving growth in
community and corporate partnerships by developing and maintaining
sustainable new initiatives and campaigns in partnership with our
current donors and corporates.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation working
to create positive change in the lives of children, young people who
are affected by cancer and their families. You will help deliver an
ambitious Income & Communications Strategy nationwide.

The job role will include identifying, cultivating and managing a
portfolio of both current and prospective donors as well as
coordinating events such as Light it Up Gold and other events. You
will collaborate with team members to make community and corporate
partner pitches. You will build relationships with corporate and
individual donors to secure much-needed funds. The ideal candidate
will understand the process of supporting potential and current
community and corporate Partners to achieve and grow net income,
account management and event coordination

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with the CEO and Communications Manager to develop annual
budgets and activity plans, achieving agreed net income targets. This
will involve planning and implementing activities and partnerships in
a strategic, impactful, and meaningful way.
* Ensure excellent management of existing and new community and
corporate donors to create innovative strategies to generate high
levels of loyalty and commitment, fostering and enhancing their
long-term relationship with the organisations and donors.
* Prepare and deliver high-quality, professional and impactful
presentations.
* Produce well-written project proposals, briefings and pitches and
make ‘asks’, with the support and guidance of the Childhood Cancer
Ireland team where necessary.
* Help coordinate and lead as required on large events such as Light
It Up Gold in September, International Childhood Cancer Day, The Gold
Ribbon Abseil and Camino, Christmas events and smaller events that
take place throughout the year.
* Ensure the weekly and monthly management of all income plans,
completing performance reports as required, and tracking performance
weekly.
* Ensure expenditure is managed in line with agreed budgets,
delivering value for money across all areas, and exploring and
optimising pro-bono and gift-in-kind support.

OTHER

* Linking with the communications team to ensure the organisation's
website and relevant online platforms are updated regularly on key
corporate events, activities, and partnerships that you are leading,
ensuring relevant and impactful information to encourage support.
Ensure all relevant opportunities are explored and delivered through
digital channels.
* Maintain an interest in community, corporate and high-value
fundraising training for continuous learning and improvement, and
ensure plans and activities are at the forefront of trends and market
changes.
* Research potential new Fundraising initiatives and projects.
Produce a detailed summary report (research, recommendations, review)
on each project within a defined timescale.
* Identify research and track deadlines for grants, corporate
Charity of the Year (COTY) or partnership opportunities, working to
develop links with these groups to pitch for business, ensuring that
proposals are submitted in a timely manner.
* To ensure screening of key partnerships to safeguard alignment
with the values and ethics of Childhood Cancer Ireland.
* To ensure the CRM is used accurately to record income and
communication with all contacts.
* To represent Childhood Cancer Ireland at key events and activities
as planned.
* To comply with all Childhood Cancer Ireland policies, procedures,
guidelines, and current legislative requirements.
* To perform any other reasonable duties and specific projects as
assigned by management to contribute to the overall aims of Childhood
Cancer Ireland.

PLEASE NOTE this role is being offered on a 1-year contract. Childhood
Cancer Ireland is growing its team and there may well be opportunities
for permanent roles for successful candidates at a later date.

Please also note that this role is based at home but travelling to
meetings, meeting giving partners, attending events and team meetings
will be required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

_QUALIFICATIONS_

Essential

* Minimum of 2 years paid experiencein a Sales or fundraising role
within a not-for-profit organisation or related environment.

Desirable

* Educated to degree level.

_EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE_

Essential

* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
* Proven track record in income generation.
* A proven track record of account management.
* Demonstrable experience of securing effective partnerships.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative in achieving targets within
acompetitive environment.
* Demonstrable experience of successfullyexecuting cultivation and
managing plans and retaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
* Demonstrable experience of event coordination.
* Knowledge of compliance requirements with Codes of Fundraising
Practice, and other relative legislation and best practice with public
and event fundraising in Ireland.

Desirable

* Fundraising experience of similar organisations
